Wow, that was a LOT to think about, but I was really thankful for it! Thanks, Mary!

It is funny how we can all read the same thing and get different applications. The thing that really stood out to me in the study today was the progression that Mary pointed out. Walk-Stand-Sit, Wicked-Sinners-Mockers. Hardening is always a progression, and sometimes I think it can kind of creep up on you if you aren't on guard against it.

Today I had to weed my garden, and lets just be honest... it has been a while since I've had time to do that. And it was a little rough looking. Okay, scratch that. Full honesty - the weeds were as big as the plants. Sigh. And I thought to myself... that when you wait, and you aren't on constant guard against it, weeds creep up everywhere, and before you know it, your garden has been taken over. Our hearts are like that too. We have to be on constant guard against sin... even when a little tiny bit creeps in... unattended... it multiplies... FAST. And it is so hard to get rid of once it has taken root. Does that make sense or do I sound like a crazy hippie with my garden analogies right now?! :)

Hebrews 12:2-3 really spoke about this point as well when it points out that we need to lay aside the sin that does SO EASILY hold us back... and RUN the race. And how do we do that? By fixing our gaze on JESUS, who is the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith. I was reminded again today, as I mentioned yesterday, that the only way to STAND is to fix my focus on HIM.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend! Can't wait to dig back in on Monday!
